Y hay quien dice que una vez fue conocida como la Tierra del Humo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/herrera-traybel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/DSCN5980.jpg?w=900&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-220\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Cuenta la leyenda que, tras su expedici\u00f3n por el estrecho que ahora lleva su nombre, Magallanes recordaba haber visto una gran humareda que sal\u00eda de la costa de esta isla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cuando estas historias llegaron a Europa, alguien decidi\u00f3 cambiar arbitrariamente el nombre a Tierra del Fuego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si hay humo, hay fuego, \u00bfverdad?<br>Por cierto, Tierra del Fuego fue colonizada por los europeos a partir de mediados del siglo XIX y su poblaci\u00f3n creci\u00f3 lentamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Argentina y Chile ten\u00edan problemas fronterizos y ambos trataron de conseguir la soberan\u00eda.<br>En 1884 se fund\u00f3 Ushuaia en el sur de la isla, a orillas del Canal de Beagle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La poblaci\u00f3n creci\u00f3 gracias a la famosa prisi\u00f3n, que ahora es un museo.<br>El tr\u00e1fico mar\u00edtimo es de gran importancia y la industria tur\u00edstica atrae a cientos de turistas a este lugar: el fin del mundo y tambi\u00e9n el fin de la Panamericana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muchos viajan de Alaska a Ushuaia o en la otra direcci\u00f3n. 17.000 km de aventura.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Esta isla tiene un nombre especial.Tierra del Fuego.
